It is affiliated with Congregation Beth Ahabah , the successor congregation to Congregation Beth Shalome. Beth Shalome was the sixth Jewish congregation in America, founded in Richmond in 1789. Located in Richmond’s historic Fan District, the Museum & Archives is open to the public for tours and research from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday, and on other days and times by appointment.
